Terms and conditions
1. The promoter of this prize draw is the South Hampshire Junior Lawyers Division (“SHJLD”) whose committee members are: Rianna Farrow, James Looi, Dereen Kakabra, Adam Hughes, Ellie Stanton, Kayleigh Ryan, Hannah McCullen, Stephanie Bellamy, Shereen Eleker, Amrita Sangha, and Agnes Swiecka (“the Promoter”).
Background
2. The Promoter recognises that improving wellbeing can make a positive difference to both individuals and the wider community. In recognition of this, the Promoter is promoting acts of wellbeing between 17 January 2022 and 21 January 2022 (inclusive), encouraging individuals to take part in activities to improve their wellbeing.
Prize Draw Rules
3. The prize draw is free to enter, and no purchase is necessary.
4. The opening date for entries is 9:00 AM on 17 January 2022. The closing date of the prize draw is 17:00 PM on 21 January 2022. Entries received after this time will not be counted or considered.
Conditions of Entry
5. The prize draw is open to all UK residents aged 18 years or over.
6. To enter an individual must:
a. post their responses to any of the five wellbeing questions posted by the SHJLD on each weekday of the wellbeing week on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or LinkedIn and tag the SHJLD in the post or respond directly to the questions posted (“Eligible Posts”);
b. post a photo related to a wellbeing activity on either Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or LinkedIn and tag the SHJLD in the post or email the photo to committee.shjld@gmail.com along with permission for the SHJLD to share this picture on social media (“Eligible Activities”); or
c. RSVP to either of the webinars below by emailing the SHJLD at committee.shjld@gmail.com or via registering on the SHJLD website (https://www.shjld.co.uk/) and attending the webinar. The SHJLD will take a register of attendees during each webinar (“Eligible Webinar”):
i. Nutrition for Physical and Mental Health by Hayley West at 1pm on Tuesday 18 January 2022; and/or;
ii. Burnbright Barriers by Donna Smith at 1pm on Thursday 20 January 2022.
7. Only one Eligible Post per person per day will be counted for the prize draw regardless of the number of Eligible Posts made in that day either on the same social media platform or across different social media platforms.
8. Only one Eligible Activity per person per day will be counted for the prize draw regardless of the number of Eligible Activities made in that day either on the same social media platform or across different social media platforms.
9. An individual will only have one entry per person per webinar for attending each of the Eligible Webinars.
10. Whether an entry complies with the requirements contained in conditions 4 - 9 above and is considered an Eligible Post, Eligible Activity, or Eligible Webinar and is therefore entered into the prize draw, is at the sole discretion of the Promotor.
11. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.
Selection of Winners
12. The winners will be chosen by random draw using the Wheel of Names (https://wheelofnames.com/) on or before 30 April 2022 ("the Draw Date").
13. The Promoter reserves the right, at its absolute discretion to choose the total number of winners that will be selected at random using the Wheel of Names and reserves the right to vary or change this at any point prior to notifying the winners of their selection.
14. The winners will receive an electronic voucher supplied by a sponsor of the prize draw, the amount of such voucher and the shop/business for which that voucher relates will be decided at the absolute discretion of the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to change the voucher provider and/or the amount following the communication of this to the winners at any point at its sole discretion.
Announcement of Prizes
15. Following the Draw Date, the winners will be notified by email or by social media (using details provided when registering to join as a member with the Promoter, to join the Promoter’s mailing list or through the social media channel on which their entry was made) within 7 working days of being chosen by random draw using the Wheel of Names.
16. In order to claim their prize, the winner must provide an email address (if one is not currently held by the Promoter). If a winner does not respond to the Promoter within 3 working days of being notified by the Promoter, then the winner's prize will be forfeited and the Promoter will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above at condition 12.
17. The prize will be sent to the winner by email within 7 working days of being notified of their win and complying with the conditions of acceptance outlined above at conditions 14 and 15 above.
18. Once winners have been notified and claimed their prize in accordance with conditions 14 and 15 above, the Promoter will seek the Winners permission in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy policy (please refer to condition 25 below) to announce the winners across the Promoter’s social media channels and mailing list.
19. The prize for the winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
Promoter's Liability
20. The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
21. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any loss of the prize by the winner including but not limited to failure by the winner to redeem the voucher prior to its expiry date.
22. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused bythe negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
23. The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will send the surname and county of major prize winners and, if applicable copies of their winning entries, to anyone who emails committee.shjld@gmail.com within one month after the closing date stated in condition 4. If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please let the Promoter know by emailing the Promoter at committee.shjld@gmail.com. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
24. Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions. If a Participant entered prior to the creation of these Terms and Conditions refuses to be bound by these terms and conditions, they will be considered not to have entered into the prize draw.
25. The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the prize draw where it becomes necessary to do so.
Data Protection
26. Personal data supplied during the course of this promotion will only be processed as set out in the Promoter's Privacy Police located at http://shjld.co.uk/privacy-notice/. Please also see condition 22 above, with regards to the announcement of winners. By entering the prize draw you consent to the Promoter publishing your name to its members and on its social media.
Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions
27. Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
28. If a Participant entered prior to the creation of these Terms and Conditions refuses to be bound by these terms and conditions, they will be considered not to have entered into the prize draw despite a post being considered an Eligible Post.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
29. The prize draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
